Agile - sharing experience

The idea with the blog is to share experience about Agile in practice, I have been facilitating CoP (Community of Practice) with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Team members etc. since 2010 with the purpose of sharing learnings from team to team...

Story DoD

You cannot expect others to create what you want, if you cannot describe it...

I often see Product Owners who don't take the time to describe what they want the team to implement, I have tried to be a PO myself and it is not as easy as you may think to write the Definition of Done (DoD) for each story, espicially the first couple of times.

But lack of Story DoD is something that most teams have as a challenge, I have created an example of how a Story DoD could look like, one important thing that I discovered is the picture, it does not have to be perfect, a simple drawing will do, but it is much more helpfull than text...

Story DoD is not just something that Agile is suffering from, but we face the problem much faster when we switch from waterfall to Agile... If you search for this challenges on Internet, you will find many artichles about this, among others is this link - writing it short:

The Product Owner needs to have a strong, clear vision of the product, lack of user involvement traditionally has been the no. 1 reason for project failure. Conversely, it has been the leading contributor to projects success. Even when delivered on time and on budget, a project can fail if it doesn't meet user needs or expectations.
